Why is it that every time a Western act loses to a K-pop act (and it happens often, because K-pop is strong), the Western fans act like shit heads?

Not that there aren’t K-pop fans that talk shit. Because they do, and that’s natural, to talk shit when your side wins…

But usually, kids from the Western fandoms come out with their claws out, calling the K-pop guys fags, the girls hoes, talking shit.

And of course, that brings out the claws of K-pop fans. Which brings out the claws of more of the Western fans.

And, I know people will reply to this and be like “Oh, but K-pop fans are bad cuz blah blah blah.” 

No. As a Western fan and a K-pop fan, I’m going to be honest. You Western fans are the culprits. Why can’t you ever lose in dignity? I can honestly say that if Big Bang lost tonight, we would just have been sad. Nobody would’ve talked about how suck One Direction is, and even if they did, they wouldn’t have went AT Directioners. 

Because WE KNOW our groups are small compared to the likes of One Direction, Justin Bieber, or Britney Spears. We know that. Those people have the advantage of coming out of the two biggest markets in the world. That means if they have a release, literally everyone will get it.

Big Bang, what sets them apart is that their stuff is mostly only released in KOREA. And they still manage to have a large international fandom. That’s what sets K-pop apart, in general. The Korean market is something like the 17th largest market in the world.

17 markets are bigger than them.

Yet they still manage to beat groups like 1D, and artists like Britney. 

Why does this ANGER Western fans so badly? “OMG this group I never heard of beat my fave, that means they’re ugly and they suck and they’re gay and I hate them.”

Why can’t that make you say “who is that?” and figure out WHY they have such crazy fans?

The REASON K-pop can beat Western pop in fan polls is because K-pop fans unite, and are dedicated, because WE KNOW our groups are smaller, and WE FEEL are groups are great, and we try hard to get them the recognition we feel they deserve. Where as Western fans are cavalier about these things. They don’t have campaigns telling fans to vote with all of their might.

K-pop does.

And the reason I know that is because I am a fan of Avril Lavigne, and I follow so many Directioners on tumblr and twitter. I saw NOTHING about the MTV Italy TRL Awards, except from VIPs (Big Bang fans). 

VIPs worked their asses off DAILY to win this award.

Directioners didn’t focus on it, at all. 

That’s why One Direction lost.

And no attack on 1D, they’re are a perfectly okay Boy Band.

No attack on Directioners.

There are certainly MORE Directioners than VIPs, and probably more than K-pop fans combined. No one is questioning that. But VIPs are so dedicated. SO CRAZILY dedicated. It’s difficult to beat Big Bang, in a fan vote. 

Big Bang had the MOST VOTES at the MTV EMAs EVER! 

Big Bang is HARD TO BEAT, in fan votes, because VIPs go hard, when it comes to voting. 

My only beef with Directioners, and other Western fans, because this happened with the Britney fandom, too, when we beat her at EMA, and it happens every time there is a Popdust vote with a K-pop act against a Western act, is that Western fans start acting like … Westerners. Rude, arrogant, and insulting just because our groups happen to be Asian, and “you never heard of them” (because they fucking aren’t RELEASED in the States or Europe, only in Asia.)

Stop that.

Be sad you lost, and be sad you lost to someone you never heard of.

But stop fucking being bitches and insulting people, just because you lost. 

Seriously, as a Western person, it’s fucking embarrassing and rude, and you make us have to explain to the Asian half of our fandoms that all Westerners aren’t fucking pricks like that.

The West isn’t the only part of the world, guys. And actually, there are more people in Asia than in the US AND UK combined. It really shouldn’t be too shocking that an Asian group could beat a Western group, in theory. I mean, admittedly, the fandom is smaller, but damn. Stop acting like the US and the UK are the only parts of the world that matter.
